Profil lodìnice Canados

Canados is an historical shipyard specialized in the design, production and sale of luxury motor yachts between 76 and 116 feet and of two different model lines: flying bridge and large sport open.

In April 2007, the company was acquired by the European Private Equity Balmoral Capital fund, based in London. Founded in 2004 as a spin-off of part the European Private Equity team of Credit Suisse First Boston, Balmoral Capital places investments in the United Kingdom, Italy and France, focusing its attention on highly dynamic industrial and service companies which enjoy a competitive position and a superior growth potential.

Canados has been building yachts for over 60 years and has enjoyed a long history that few other boat builders can match. Boasting an excellence in working with wood and GRP, from the first motorboats to sailing boats, Canados has arrived at today’s luxurious motor yachts, a synonym of exclusiveness and elegance. Founded on the banks of the River Tiber in Rome at the end of the 1940s, the yard has always built luxury motor yachts chosen by princesses and kings, leading businessmen, sportsmen and members of the international jet set. In 2006, in addition to the wellestablished flying bridge line, Canados entered in great style the sport segment launching the Canados Open 90, a 28 mt. fast and elegant yacht which had an incredible success from the very first day of its presentation.

The extension of the flying bridge and sport lines is a further confirmation of the company’s plans & growth potential. Soon after her launch the Canados Open 90, the first model of Canados’ sport line, received two prestigious international awards: the Millenium Yacht Design Award for best yacht over 24 metres, and the Showboats International Award for best yacht in 2007 in the “Semi- Custom Motor Yacht Interior” category.

With the launch of the new Canados 76 (world-wide premiere at the Festival de la Plaisance in Cannes 2008), the yard product range continue to expand to compete in all segments above 75 feet. This latest model joins the 86 and the 116, the yard’s flagship, models that have enjoyed great success in the latest years.

The company is deeply investing time and resources to guarantee top class customer care to all Canados’ owners. The plan include the construction of new facilities for ordinary and extraordinary maintenance, a dedicated customer service team to ensure constant and rapid assistance in Italy and abroad, new and larger spaces for yacht storage, and a modern marina for about 35-berths, all within the modern yard’s premise of over 120,000 square meters in Ostia, 30 km. west of Rome, on the Tyrrhenian Sea and 7 km. away from Fiumicino International Airport.
